For nearly 40 years, Concerned Citizens for a Better Algiers (CCFBA) has invested in people, neighborhoods, and affordable housing throughout Algiers and the Greater New Orleans community. From helping families achieve homeownership to developing supportive and affordable housing, our work continues to transform lives.
Today, CCFBA proudly owns and manages 55 affordable housing units, providing safe, quality housing for individuals, families, persons living with HIV/AIDS, and homeless veterans.
Concerned Citizens for a Better Algiers was established to improve the quality of life for residents through housing, community development, and supportive services.
CCFBA completed its first affordable housing subdivision, featuring 13 newly constructed homes for first-time homebuyers and making the dream of homeownership a reality for local families
Developed six supportive housing units for individuals living with HIV/AIDS and their families, combining safe housing with comprehensive supportive services.
Expanded affordable housing with 18 rental units (nine duplexes) for low- and moderate-income families, strengthening housing opportunities throughout Algiers.
Completed four newly constructed affordable homes at 1124–1126 Casa Calvo Street, featuring three bedrooms and two bathrooms. This newest development increased CCFBA’s housing portfolio to 55 affordable housing units, continuing our commitment to neighborhood revitalization and affordable housing.

OUR GROUP HOUSING
Built/renovated buildings to provide residential care for homeless persons with special needs: Home Again provides housing in a group home setting for 20 low-income or no-income individuals living with HIV/AIDS. The goal of Home Again is to provide the path for homeless HIV/AIDS infected individuals to move to permanent housing and life as a productive citizen by:
- Providing residential stability and a safe and anonymous environment for clients, family members, caregivers, and significant others;
- Providing effective quality counseling and education for clients, family members, caregivers, and significant others;
- Achieving a substance abuse recovery success rate of 55 - 65 percent over the one-year post-discharge period;
- Increasing the skill levels and/or income of clients;
- Achieve greater self-determination by the clients;
- Expanding collaborative service delivery to ensure a continuum of care for clients, family members, caregivers, and significant others.
