CONCERNED CITIZENS FOR A BETTER ALGIERS
Policy: It is the policy of Concerned Citizens for a Better Algiers not to condone practices of Sexual Harassment.
Procedure: The victim must directly inform the harasser that the conduct is unwelcome and must stop. The victim should make a formal complaint or grievance to the Administrative Department.
An investigation of the allegation of sexual harassment will entail looking at the entire record; the circumstances, such as the nature of the sexual advances; and the context in which the alleged incidents occurred. A determination on the allegations is made from the facts on a case-by-case basis.
Prevention is the best tool to eliminate sexual harassment in the workplace. Home Again encourages that practices of sexual harassment should never occur at or around Home Again. Home Again clearly communicates to employees that sexual harassment will not be tolerated. Immediate and appropriate action will be taken when an employee complains.
During the investigation, the harasser will be removed from the work place with the victim and, where possible, placed in another area to work. If not possible, the harasser will be given time off until the investigation has been completed.
If it is found that the allegation is true, the harasser will be terminated. This is the proper resolution in the case of Sexual Harassment.
If it is found that the harasser did not harass the victim, the victim will be disciplined for “Gross Misconduct”.
In the event that no resolution is possible, the sexual harassment case will be referred to the proper EEOC office.
